Waterline Action Learning™

Waterline Action Learning is a structured method for leaders and teams to get results through a repeated cycle of reflection and action. It is distinguished from other methods by 1.) a focus on defined work challenges for which participants have accountability for action, and 2.) a questioning process that uncovers assumptions that are guiding current actions.

Action Learning Framework

How Does It Work?

Action learning participants meet over time to implement a cycle of inquiry and action. The framework above delineates the five stages of inquiry participants go through to effectively apply the learning cycle. Above the "waterline," questions clarify the topic. Below the waterline, questions uncover the frame currently used, explore other perspectives, and help participants reframe and plan more strategic action. With each cycle, deeper understanding of the situation occurs, and ever more strategic actions are taken.

Action Learning
